报告人简介：Professor J. Lam received a BSc (1st Hons.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester, MPhil and PhD degrees from the University of Cambridge. Prior to joining the Department of Mechanical Engineering, The University of Hong Kong in 1993 where he is now Chair of Control Engineering, Professor Lam was a lecturer at the City University of Hong Kong and the University of Melbourne. He is a Cheung Kong Chair Professor and a Highly Cited Researcher in Engineering (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019) and Computer Science (2015).

Professor Lam is a Chartered Mathematician, Chartered Scientist, Chartered Engineer, Fellow of IEEE, IET, IMA, and IMechE. He is Editor-in-Chief of IET Control Theory and Applications, Journal of The Franklin Institute, and Proc. IMechE Part I: Journal of Systems and Control Engineering, Subject Editor of Journal of Sound and Vibration, Editor of Asian Journal of Control, Consulting Editor of International Journal of Systems Science, Associate Editor of Automatica, and Multidimensional Systems & Signal Processing. His research interests include model reduction, robust control and filtering, delay systems, singular systems, positive systems, Markovian jump systems, multidimensional systems, networked control systems, vibration control, and complex networks.。

报告简介：In this talk, as Editor-in-Chief of journals, the speaker will share some of his experience in publishing papers in journals. In particular, he will discuss issues related to the paper handling and reviewing processes. He will also highlight matters that authors should be aware of and the good practice in reviewing papers and joint authorship.
